This weekend, something came over me.
(Never underestimate a woman in her follicular phase. We can get things done.)
There were two ideas that had been weighing on me for a while, and I finally decided to execute on both of them.
Saturday morning I woke up and was instantly "on one"
I had some serious conversations with ChatGPT and Pinterest and ended up reorganizing and restyling shelves throughout our house.
I’m really into curating my spaces right now. I've realized just how much calmer I feel when my space feels just right (more on that later)
Then I started working on the future of this platform.
KICK ASS Stepmom Insider.
I HEARD YOU. YOU MISS THE CHATOOM.
Look. I heard you.
When I retired the KICK ASS Stepmom Community in 2025, a lot of you messaged me saying you missed the chatroom and the connection you had with other stepmoms.
And honestly, I missed it too.
For a while I thought Substack was going to be the answer for that.
But to be frank, it kind of fell short.
What I really wanted was a place where we could connect.
A place where I could write and share without the filter.
A place where stepmoms could support each other.
A place where I could talk about what I’m navigating in this new season of my life.
(All of my stepkids are now out of the house - I can look back on stepfamily life from a whole new perspective)
It’s such a weird feeling.

But I also wanted a space where we could go deeper after the mic turns off.
